We rescue animals that have been discarded or unwanted, providing them with a life of comfort, love and adventure. Each animal has a unique set of needs that we pay for through donations and our merchandise sales. Around the age of 12, he said, he began visiting a Broward County animal shelter where he found consolation, and kinship, with the dogs and cats in the kennels. Each move was strategically planned to enhance its ability to serve animals in distress and contribute to their well-being. Basically, after traveling the country to promote dog adoption and meeting with various shelters and rescues, Lee applied for his 501c3 nonprofit, which was approved in late 2020.
In late 2020, Lee discovered a large parcel of property which was the perfect setting to turn his vision into a reality. As a sanctuary, many of the dogs we rescue will live out their lives with Lee and the pack. But we do make available the highly adoptable dogs that would thrive with kids and a family, or if it is determined that the pup would do better in a different environment; for example, as the only pet in the home. Once they do, step 2 is to take time to connect with the animal. The story is rooted in a Broward County animal shelter where Asher, as a troubled youth, found solace. It includes five years' worth of road trips in a recreational vehicle from which he launched his campaign to rescue animals from unnecessary euthanasia.
Animals need enrichment and activity in order to thrive, and it is so much fun for Lee to take them along for the ride. Our original location is in Estacada, Oregon, and we do still have some animals there. Our Salem location is much larger, and this is where Lee resides with the majority of the dogs and the cats...and of course all of the other animals on the property. We currently have over 140 animals on our properties, including dogs, cats, birds, donkeys, llamas, alpacas, cows, horses, pigs, goats, sheep and even a ram. Fast forward to now, he’s been in rescue care and Ruger has undergone surgery to remove majority of the bullets, fragments were left behind as this was the safest option. He has a broken vertebrae and this is why you see him wearing a neck brace- we were told it shouldn’t be a forever accessory and he should have it off in a few short weeks. Ruger can and will live a very healthy long term life- he has nothing stopping him once his neck brace comes off. Since Lee resides on the property, we currently do not allow visitors or volunteers.

The 24-month road trip was then followed by another three years of intermittent travel that, all told, took him to 49 mainland U.S. states and large swaths of Canada. Today, Asher lives in the Salem, Oregon, region where he runs two animal sanctuaries and is affiliated with a third that, in total, care for an estimated 200 dogs, cats, horses, llamas and other animals.
